The harder the material, the more brittle it is. the softer or more malleable the material, the less brittle it is. personally, I don't think tungsten carbide is a great material for luxury items. great for industrial purposes, but jewelry and watches, not so much.

I did not realize that Silicon Carbide is bad to use for tungsten grinding. I have been using one for several months now, and until now, did not know it was bad. I have been sharpening tungstens for use on both AC and DC, and have not seen any negative performance versus Alum Oxide. Guess it is time for a diamond wheel now.
